Alumni

Alumni are a group of people who have graduated from a school or university. Students past and present are seen as continued partners, providing a crucial opportunity for both the Alumni and our current students alike to build their profile and get huge benefits. For our current students, alumni are becoming important professional development help as well as a source of inspiration. For former students, joining this community provides the perfect opportunity to expand their professional connections and meet new people. It also allows them to stay connected to SRMS and keep up to date with our news.

"Once a Manwoodian, always a Manwoodian"

All Alumni are able to join the closed Facebook group 'Old Manwoodians'.  In addition Alumni are eligible to join the Old Manwoodian Association (OMA).

It can be found at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheOldManwoodianAssociation

There is also a LinkedIn page at https://www.linkedin.com/groups/42929/

Membership of the Association costs £5.00 a year (currently). This covers the cost of postage of the three times a year newsletter and the administration of the Association.  All excess money goes towards OMA and the school.

If you would like to join the OMA please contact the Membership Secretary, Mr David Stevens, at stevensd@omamembership.co.uk.

Each year an Alumni and Family reunion event is held at the School which is open to all Alumni, not just those Alumni who are members of the OMA.  The next one will be on Saturday 6 July 2024.

It is worth noting that the OMA holds a fund that current Year 13 students and university students can apply to. The fund is intended to enable students to undertake an exciting opportunity during a gap year or during their university years. It should be noted that the opportunity should involve helping others in some way as well as it being a self-development opportunity, i.e. it can’t be used to fund an airline ticket!

Previous recipients have used it to enable them to take up the opportunity to work in an orphanage in Romania, and another, a school in Africa. The application form can be found below.
